Mrs Tabitha Twitchit is another much loved mother-figure amidst our Beatrix Potter Collection. Tabitha is a multi-tasker - a shopkeeper and long suffering mother to three mischievous little kittens - Tom, Moppet, and Mittens.
Whilst not the protagonist of her own self-titled book, she appears in The Tale of Pie and the Patty-Pan (1905), The Story of Miss Moppet (1906), The Tale of Tom Kitten (1907) and finally The Tale of Samuel Whiskers (also called The Roly Poly Pudding (1908) ).
She quietly holds her own amongst all of these books, going about her business, and keeping her kittens in hand, as only a mother can - and for that we love her a little more with each read…
Tabitha Twitchit is a dusky rose. Like our other Beatrix Potter Collection wraps she is comprised of 46% luxury combed cotton and 21% linen on a Egyptian cotton warp (33%). The combed cotton/ linen Geos break in very quickly and soon become amazingly soft and smushy!
Tabitha Twitchit weighs in at approximately 277 g/m².
