Tri blend review
39% EC 37% Merino 24% Linen
Loom weight 223gsm
Bloom weight 226gsm (after bath)
It has that soft floppy woven wings merino feel, with a added coolness to the touch of linen and very occasionally I spot the tell tale linen creases, I have very much enjoyed having this prototype here, (not least because the merino hasn't agitated my wool allergy) it has a lovely stretch that really moulds to the wearers and I think such a careful balance between the wool and linen that you get the benefit of both fibres, the strength and cool feeling of linen and that soft floppy feel of a low merino blend and that slightly wooly feel
Not to mention the stunning shimmer from the linen, I've found this wrap very compliant and almost willing to please with the extra grip and stretch really helping make a perfect wrap job with very little stress on my part
The contrast of the fibres also gives an added texture to the geo pattern which seems to stay slightly raised, although I have been using it day in day out with my 17kg 3 year old and it has been soft, supportive and strong - I've not had a pass slip or lost a seat (and we have off days like the best of them)
and i can't help but dream about how perfect it would be for a tiny wrappee
Ideal for which temperature? as a few people asked its no mesh wrap and it's no wooly blanket I think it's done a wonderful job of sitting on the fence smack bang in the middle I probably wouldn't use it in the middle of summer but that's more based on its dark sultryness than its blend as the dark colours would absorb heat in a hotter climate... If I was in hot sweltery heat I would reach for the high linen cotton first, but I would pick this every day in England... Every damn day.
