Today is my last day with the beautiful Navy Tiles tester wrap sent on to me from the lovely Alex, tomorrow it will continue it's journey and meet Anna, Sammy, and Bump.
Navy Tiles is like the cousin of Kingfisher Tiles. Whilst it has the same essential pattern, it's blend is totally different, as is it's design and use of different colours.
(Kingfisher Tiles has seven different coloured tiles whereas Navy Tiles has three. Kingfisher Tiles is a silk blend, Navy Tiles is a new blend of Merino wool and flax linen.)
Navy Tiles is lighter in hand than Kingfisher Tiles, it has good diagonal stretch but not quite as much as Kingfisher I felt. I would liken the feel of Navy Tiles to a lighter weight Droplets. There are definitely some strong similarities there.
As I unpackaged Navy Tiles I noticed instantly how spongy and smooth it was. The famous Woven Wings Merino, that although is hidden away inside the wrap, was evidently working it's magic and giving the wrap the squishy deliciousness that we all know and love. Yet the flax and cotton were working to making the surface texture flat and smooth.
We were just heading out the door to go shopping so of course Navy Tiles came too.
As we got there I naturally began wrapping a Double Hammock, before noticing that it was actually a size 5, so I quickly switched to a DH w/CCCB. Ohhhh the squishiness!! I could pull it snugly around me, and it hugged and moulded to Dylan's form. It is so soft!
After about half an hour I noticed how well supported Dylan still was. Although soft and smooth the flax seems to give it a strength that holds his weight well. (Bearing in mind Dylan is now 18 months old, that's no mean feat!) Two hours in to the trip, as Dylan was falling asleep, I noticed that he had slipped down my back somewhat and the wrap was pulling on my shoulders. I would largely blame my wrap job as I don't find my CCCB's hold up as long as normal DH's, but I also wonder whether the smooth surface texture of Navy Tiles played a part. No bother though, I just retightened and carried on. Over the week I have rucked with Navy Tiles a whole lot as he is just AMAZING in a Ruck! One of the best ruck wraps i have ever tried in fact. ....the cushy shoulders, ....the support!!! Woah!!!
He also makes a snuggly FWCC wrap too. Again, the hidden support from the flax combined with the softness of the merino makes it the wrap you will pick for occasions when you are wrapping for your baby to nap! Today they soothed my poor teething toddler. (Wraps are worth their weight in gold when it comes to teething toddlers)
I would personally choose my beautiful Kingfisher Tiles in a long wrap for snug DH's and CCC's, and I would choose Navy tiles in a medium wrap for Ruck's and FWCC TAS. They are an amazing pair!
Lastly I just want to note how well Navy Tiles looks on and photographs! I just cant get enough of it! The design is simple enough and yet intricate enough to really stand out and get noticed! And the rich warm navy and petrol colours gives it just enough of a warmth to complement all skin tones.
This wrap is gorgeous. .....how long until it is released please?!!!!!!!??!!!
